Strong Thunderstorm Threatens Inland Levy, Seek Shelter Now

Residents in Inland Levy County, particularly Williston and Bronson, are advised to seek shelter indoors immediately due to a strong thunderstorm. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Tampa Bay Ruskin FL issued a Special Weather Statement at 5:36 PM EDT today, October 9, effective until 6:00 PM EDT.

At 5:35 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm over Williston Highlands, moving north at 30 mph. This storm is expected to bring wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. These strong winds could cause damage, including knocking down tree limbs and blowing around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include Williston, Bronson, Williston Highlands, East Bronson, and Williston Municipal Airport. If you are outdoors in these areas, please consider seeking shelter inside a sturdy building until the statement expires at 6:00 PM EDT.
