Room One
Room One
Monroe County residents, spanning the Florida Keys from Key West to Key Largo, are invited to experience "Room One," a unique interactive art installation opening this Friday, April 18, at the Monroe County Arts Center on Main Street. The exhibit, designed by local artist Eleanor Vance, transforms a single room into a contemplative space exploring themes of memory and community connection.
Vance, a long-time resident of Monroe County known for her mixed-media works, has been developing "Room One" for the past year. Visitors will be encouraged to contribute their own small mementos or written reflections to the evolving installation, making each visit a distinct experience. The Arts Center hopes this collaborative approach will foster dialogue among community members.
The Monroe County Arts Center, located at 123 Main Street, will host "Room One" through May 31. Admission is free for all Monroe County residents. The center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. For more information, residents can contact the Arts Center directly during operating hours.
