Dense Fog Advisory for SLO and Santa Barbara Co. Beaches Until 9 AM
A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County Central Coast Beaches until 9:00 AM PDT today, with low visibility creating hazardous driving conditions. A Heat Advisory is also in effect until 8:00 PM PDT.
Drivers in San Luis Obispo County Beaches and Santa Barbara County Central Coast Beaches are advised to exercise extreme caution this morning due to a Dense Fog Advisory. The National Weather Service (NWS) Los Angeles/Oxnard CA has issued this advisory, effective until 9:00 AM PDT today, October 8.
Visibility is expected to be one-quarter mile or less in dense fog, making driving conditions hazardous. The NWS recommends that if you are driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
Additionally, a Heat Advisory is in effect for the same areas until 8:00 PM PDT this evening, with temperatures reaching up to 85 degrees. Residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors to prevent heat illnesses.
