Residents in the San Luis Obispo County Inland Central Coast and Santa Barbara County Inland Central Coast should prepare for a combination of a Heat Advisory and a Dense Fog Advisory today, October 8th, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Los Angeles/Oxnard.

The Heat Advisory is in effect until 8:00 PM PDT this evening, with temperatures expected to reach up to 89 degrees. Hot temperatures can lead to heat illnesses. To mitigate this risk, the NWS advises drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air-conditioned rooms, avoiding direct sun exposure, and checking on relatives and neighbors.

Separately, a Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 9:00 AM PDT this morning. Visibility may be reduced to a quarter-mile or less, making driving conditions hazardous. Drivers are instructed to slow down, use headlights, and maintain ample distance between vehicles.

Both advisories are current as of 4:57 AM PDT and expire at their respective times today.
