Captain Smit Machchhar of FlyDubai flight FZ-1627 restrained an individual who attacked him in the cockpit during a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv on November 15. The incident occurred approximately 20 minutes before the aircraft's scheduled landing at Ben Gurion Airport.

According to accounts, a passenger rushed the cockpit and attacked Captain Machchhar with a sharp object. Captain Machchhar engaged the individual, preventing further escalation of the assault.

Passengers on board the Boeing 737-800 assisted flight crew members in subduing the individual. The crew then secured the individual to a seat in the back of the aircraft. Israeli security personnel arrested the individual upon the flight's arrival in Tel Aviv.
