Key Biscayne Police Department and Crossing Guards Bolster School Zone Safety for New Academic Year

Key Biscayne Police Department (KBPD) officers and crossing guards prepared for the new academic year, which began on September 1st. The KBPD increased its presence in school zones, deploying more school resource officers and bicycle patrol units near schools. Crossing guards also underwent specialized training.

The KBPD collaborated with the Key Biscayne School District to ensure student safety. Parents should review safe routes to school with their children, and drivers must adhere to school zone speed limits, remaining vigilant for pedestrians.
