A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Crenshaw County, including Brantley and Luverne, effective immediately as of 7:27 AM CDT today, October 9, 2026. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Mobile, AL, warns of severe wind, extensive flooding, and potential tornadoes. This warning is in effect until 3:30 PM UTC (10:30 AM CDT) today.
Residents in affected areas should move to safe shelter before hazardous winds arrive. Peak wind gusts of up to 45 mph are expected, with potential for stronger gusts between 58 to 73 mph. Rivers and tributaries could overflow, and floodwaters may enter structures. Heed all flood watches and warnings; failure to act could result in serious injury or loss of life.
The NWS also indicates a favorable situation for several tornadoes, some potentially intense. Those in manufactured homes or on boats should relocate to safe shelter.
