A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Lower St. Bernard, including Yscloskey, Delacroix, and Shell Beach, effective immediately as of October 7 at 9:59 PM CDT by the National Weather Service in New Orleans. This warning indicates tropical storm-force winds are expected within the next 36 hours. Residents in these areas must act now to complete preparations.

A Storm Surge Warning is also in effect, signifying a danger of life-threatening inundation from rising water moving inland. Life-threatening storm surge of 3-5 feet above ground is possible from Friday morning until Saturday morning. Evacuation efforts and flood preparations should be completed before conditions become unsafe. Leave immediately if evacuation orders are given for your area.

Peak winds are forecast between 25-35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph, with the potential for winds of 58 to 73 mph. Significant impacts include damage to roofing, siding, and mobile homes, downed trees, and impassable roads due to debris. Scattered power and communications outages are also possible.
