A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued by the NWS New Orleans LA for Lower St. Bernard, affecting Yscloskey, Delacroix, and Shell Beach, effective immediately until 12:00 AM UTC on October 8, 2026. This watch indicates that tropical storm conditions are possible within the specified area.

Residents in these areas should plan for dangerous wind of equivalent strong tropical storm force, with peak winds of 25-35 mph and gusts up to 55 mph. There is a potential for winds reaching 58 to 73 mph, which could cause significant damage to properties, uproot trees, and make roads impassable. Preparations to protect life and property should be underway. Act now to complete all preparations.

A life-threatening storm surge is possible, with peak inundation potentially reaching 3-5 feet above ground in surge-prone areas. This surge is expected from Friday morning until Saturday morning.
