Life-Threatening Storm Surge, Major Flooding Expected in Coastal Taylor
A Storm Surge Warning is in effect for Coastal Taylor, including Keaton Beach and Steinhatchee, with life-threatening surge, major flooding, and tornadoes expected; residents must remain sheltered immediately.
Coastal Taylor residents, including Keaton Beach and Steinhatchee, are urged to remain sheltered immediately as a Storm Surge Warning is in effect, issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee FL. Life-threatening storm surge of 4-6 feet above ground is possible through Saturday morning.
A Flood Watch is also in effect, with an additional 3-6 inches of rain expected, leading to potential major flooding and likely evacuations and rescues. Rivers may rapidly overflow, and floodwaters could enter many structures. A Tornado Watch is also active, with conditions highly favorable for numerous tornadoes that could cause extensive damage.
While winds are forecast to remain below tropical storm force (20-30 mph with gusts to 40 mph), residents must prioritize safety from storm surge, flooding, and tornadoes. Do not venture outside.
