A Storm Surge Warning has been issued for Coastal Taylor, including Keaton Beach and Steinhatchee, effective immediately. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Tallahassee warns of life-threatening storm surge with potential inundation of 2-4 feet above ground in surge-prone areas through Saturday morning. Flood preparations and ordered evacuations should be complete. Residents in these areas are advised to remain sheltered in a safe location and not venture outside.
Extreme flooding rain is also expected, with an additional 3-6 inches possible, leading to devastating to catastrophic impacts. Emergency plans should account for extreme and widespread rainfall flooding, with evacuations and rescues likely. Heed all flood watches and warnings immediately.
