A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Southeast St. Tammany, including Slidell, by the National Weather Service in New Orleans, effective immediately as of October 8 at 4:13 PM CDT. This warning indicates a severe threat, primarily from life-threatening storm surge.

Residents in surge-prone areas of Southeast St. Tammany, especially near Lake Pontchartrain and the Rigolets, face potential storm surge inundation of 3-5 feet above ground. This surge is expected from Friday morning until Saturday morning. Evacuation efforts and flood preparations should be completed before conditions become unsafe. If evacuation orders are given for your area, leave immediately to avoid being cut off from emergency services.
