An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for Cuyama Valley, Santa Barbara County, and Santa Cruz and Anacapa Islands from October 7 to October 8, with temperatures up to 95 degrees; residents should drink fluids, seek cool spaces, and check on neighbors.
Residents across the Cuyama Valley, Santa Barbara County’s interior mountains and coasts, Santa Cruz and Anacapa Islands, and the Santa Ynez Mountains are advised to take immediate precautions as an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued. The National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA has issued this warning, effective from October 7 at 9:41 AM PDT until October 8 at 8:00 PM PDT.
Dangerously hot conditions are expected, with temperatures reaching up to 95 degrees Fahrenheit. This extreme heat significantly increases the risk of heat-related illnesses.
To protect yourselves and your loved ones, residents are instructed to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and stay out of the sun. It is also critical to check up on relatives and neighbors, especially those who may be vulnerable to the heat.
