Residents in the Parker Valley, Gila River Valley, Palo Verde Valley, and Chuckwalla Valley are advised to take immediate precautions as an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Phoenix AZ.

The warning is in effect from 10 AM MST /10 AM PDT/ on Thursday, October 7, 2026, until 8 PM MST /8 PM PDT/ on Thursday, October 7, 2026. Dangerously hot conditions are expected, with afternoon temperatures ranging from 102 to 106 degrees Fahrenheit, posing a Major Heat Risk.

The NWS advises rescheduling strenuous outdoor activities to early mornings or evenings. Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing, and drink plenty of water. Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. If working outdoors, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments. Heat stroke is a medical emergency; call 911 immediately if someone is overcome by heat and move them to a cool, shaded area.
