An Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for San Bernardino and Riverside County Valleys – The Inland Empire, effective immediately until Thursday, October 8, at 8:00 PM PDT. Residents should prepare for dangerously hot conditions with daytime highs reaching the upper 90s to 105 degrees Fahrenheit.

The National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego reports that overnight temperatures will also remain very warm, with lows in the upper 60s to low 70s. These conditions significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses.

To stay safe, the NWS advises drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air-conditioned rooms, and avoiding direct sun exposure. Check on relatives and neighbors, especially those vulnerable to heat. It is critical to never leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles, as car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in minutes.
