RANDOLPH COUNTY, AL – A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for Randolph County, effective October 8 at 7:10 PM CDT by the National Weather Service in Birmingham, AL. This watch includes the Roanoke area and remains in effect until October 9 at 3:15 AM UTC.
Residents in Randolph County should take immediate action to prepare for hazardous wind, moderate flooding rain, and the potential for several tornadoes. Plan for hazardous wind of equivalent tropical storm force with peak winds forecast at 10-20 mph and gusts up to 40 mph. Efforts to protect property should be underway now, and preparations should be completed before winds become hazardous.
