Hollywood Fire Department Promotes Lieutenant to Captain
The Hollywood Fire Department announced the promotion of Lieutenant Sarah Jenkins to the rank of Captain, effective April 15, 2026. Captain Jenkins will oversee Station 3 on Sunset Boulevard, a critical post for responding to emergencies in the bustling historic downtown district and surrounding residential areas.
Captain Jenkins has served the Hollywood community for 12 years, starting as a firefighter and steadily rising through the ranks. Her dedication to public safety and her leadership during numerous local incidents have earned her the respect of her colleagues and the community. This promotion fills a vacancy left by the recent retirement of Captain Robert Miller, who served the department for over 30 years.
Fire Chief David Chen praised Captain Jenkins' commitment, stating, "Sarah's experience and leadership are invaluable to our department. We are confident she will continue to excel in her new role, ensuring the safety and well-being of Hollywood residents from the lively beachfront to quiet inland neighborhoods." The promotion ceremony will be held at the Hollywood City Hall Council Chambers on April 14 at 6:00 PM, and the public is invited to attend.
