Helen Howarth Park & Equestrian Trail - Pinellas Park Community Resource

Park rules are thoroughly covered in the City's Code of Ordinances. Click here to read the relevant section.Click here to reserve a park pavilion at Helen Howarth. The Helen Howarth Community Park is a vibrant recreational space catering to a variety of outdoor activities. Highlights include the equestrian center, baseball fields, and park pavilions, all available for rent. Other amenities feature a playground, a fenced dog park, and a paved walking path. Helen Howarth Park truly offers something for everyone. Namesake HistoryHelen Howarth served the people of Pinellas Park for three decades. Helen owned Park Oil Company, but she was very hands-on. She drove trucks, cleaned stoves, took orders.  She built a reputation of generosity and was known to many of the town's children as Granny Good for providing food, bundles of clothing and other gifts on doorsteps to express her concern for children in need. She kept Pinellas Park residents warm in the winter, filling their furnaces with oil even when some couldn't pay. For many years, she organized and provided full financial sponsorship for children's dances at the city's original youth center (housed in the historic auditorium building on 59th Street). She initiated the building of a historical museum and was a founder of St. Stefano's Greek Orthodox Church in 1965. She was known as a straight-talker who disdained euphemisms and spoke at full volume.Helen Howarth is a symbol of our town, a personification of Pinellas Park's community spirit.

TeenWorkx Youth Volunteer Program Serves Pinellas Park

What we doWe are known for helping the City of Pinellas Park. We are on the case whether it be cleaning up parks (sometimes even with kayaks!), maintaining various gardens, food drives, assisting at fun city events like City BBQ and Country in the Park, or helping local elementary schools. We also hold fundraisers to raise money for our organization, with some of that money going to Holiday gifts for teens in need. There are plenty of opportunities to be involved year-round and we love meeting new friends.
