Hollywood residents are encouraged to mark their calendars for several upcoming community events and important municipal updates this spring. From local library programs to public safety initiatives, there's much to keep the community informed and engaged in the heart of Broward County.

The Hollywood Public Library, located at 1600 Ivar Avenue, will host its popular "Story Time for Tots" every Tuesday morning at 10:30 AM throughout April. Aimed at children aged 2-5, these sessions feature engaging stories, songs, and crafts, fostering early literacy in a fun environment. Parents and guardians are invited to bring their young ones; no registration is required.

In municipal news, the Hollywood City Council is scheduled to hold its next regular meeting on Tuesday, April 16, at 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 2000 N. Highland Avenue. On the agenda are discussions regarding the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year and an update on the ongoing infrastructure project along Sunset Boulevard, specifically the section between Vine Street and Cahuenga Boulevard. Residents are welcome to attend and provide public comment during the designated period.

The Hollywood Police Department announced a new community outreach program, "Coffee with a Cop," which will launch next Saturday, April 20, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hollywood Farmers Market on Selma Avenue. This initiative aims to foster better communication between law enforcement and residents, allowing community members to discuss local concerns and ask questions in an informal setting. Officers will be on hand to engage with the public.

Finally, local businesses are reminded that the deadline for submitting applications for the annual "Hollywood Beautification Award" is April 30. This award recognizes businesses that significantly contribute to the aesthetic appeal of the district through landscaping, facade improvements, and overall cleanliness, enhancing the charm of our historic neighborhoods and beachside areas. Applications can be picked up at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce office at 7018 Hollywood Boulevard during business hours.
