City Council to Consider Key Development and Pension Items
Clearwater City Council is set to address several significant items at an upcoming meeting, including flexible development approvals for a new medical clinic and a commercial dock, as well as crucial pension matters. These discussions are poised to shape local infrastructure and employee benefits.
Among the agenda items, Council will review a flexible development approval (ID#26-0400) for the conversion of a property at 375 Turner Street in downtown Clearwater into a medical clinic. This project seeks flexibility for reduced off-street parking and landscape buffers. Additionally, a flexible development approval (ID#26-0401) is on the table for an existing 1,838 square foot commercial dock with a new boat lift at 125 Island Way in the Clearwater Beach area, accessory to 27-unit attached dwellings.
In land use changes, the Council will consider amendments to the city’s Future Land Use Map and Zoning Atlas for the property located at 1399 Pineapple Lane. These amendments (ID#26-0402 and ID#26-0403) propose a change from Residential Low (Pinellas County) to Recreation/Open Space (City of Clearwater) and from Residential Agriculture (Pinellas County) to Open Space/Recreation (City of Clearwater), respectively.
Pension-related items are also on the agenda, including the approval of new hires as plan members (ID#26-0396) and actions on employee requests for vested (ID#26-0397) and regular pensions (ID#26-0398). These decisions are vital for the financial well-being of city employees.
Further details on these items will be discussed at the next City Council meeting, which typically occurs approximately every 18 days at 6:00 PM.
