City Council to Consider Key Development and Pension Items
Clearwater City Council is set to address several significant items at an upcoming meeting, including flexible development approvals for a medical clinic and a commercial dock, as well as crucial pension matters for city employees.
Among the development proposals, Council will review [ID#26-0400], a request for Flexible Development approval to convert a property at 375 Turner Street in downtown Clearwater into a medical clinic. This project seeks flexibility for reduced off-street parking and landscape buffers. Additionally, [ID#26-0401] involves Flexible Development approval for an existing 1,838 square foot commercial dock at 125 Island Way in the waterfront Sand Key area, accessory to 27-unit attached dwellings.
Pension-related items on the agenda include [ID#26-0396], the approval of new hires as plan members, and [ID#26-0397] and [ID#26-0398], which involve reviewing and acting on employees' requests for vested and regular pensions, respectively. These decisions are vital for the financial well-being of city staff.
The Council will also consider [ID#26-0395], a presentation of the Medal of Courage Award to Fire Fighter Charles Stokes and an award to the Pinellas County Deputy who assisted in an incident. This recognition highlights the bravery and dedication of our local first responders, who safeguard our coastal communities.
Residents can typically attend City Council meetings, which occur approximately every 18 days at 6:00 PM. Specific dates and locations are available through the City Manager's Office.
