House Cleaning Appointment

Clearwater residents are reminded that the City Council will not be holding its regular meeting today, April 17, 2026. Instead, the next opportunity for public engagement with the City Council will be during their next scheduled meeting, approximately every 18 days at 6:00 PM.

While no City Council meeting is on the docket for today, several important items are currently marked as "Agenda Ready" for upcoming discussions. These include the National Safe Boating Week Proclamation (ID#26-0407), a fitting recognition of Clearwater's maritime heritage, which will be presented at a future Council Meeting. Also awaiting review are the minutes from the March 17, 2026 Community Development Board (CDB) meeting (ID#26-0399).

Significant development proposals are also in the pipeline. Flexible Development approval is sought for a medical clinic conversion at 375 Turner Street in downtown Clearwater (ID#26-0400), which includes requests for reduced off-street parking and landscape buffers. Another flexible development request (ID#26-0401) concerns an existing commercial dock at 125 Island Way, nestled in the coastal Island Estates neighborhood, accessory to 27-unit attached dwellings within the High Density Residential Island Estates Neighborhood Conservation Overlay (HDR/IENCOD) and Preservation (P) Districts.

Further land use changes are under consideration, including an amendment to the city’s Future Land Use Map (ID#26-0402) and Zoning Atlas (ID#26-0403) for the property located at 1399 Pineapple Lane, proposing a change from Residential Low (RL) and Residential Agriculture (R-A) to Recreation/Open Space (OS/R).

In matters of public safety, a Medal of Courage Award Presentation (ID#26-0395) is scheduled for Fire Fighter Charles Stokes and an assisting Pinellas County Deputy. Additionally, the Council will review and act on new hires as plan members (ID#26-0396) and employee requests for vested (ID#26-0397) and regular pensions (ID#26-0398).

Residents interested in these or other civic matters are encouraged to consult the city's official meeting schedules and agendas for specific dates and times of upcoming City Council and board meetings.
