A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for the Coastal Gulf area, including Port Saint Joe and Cape San Blas, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee FL, effective today, October 8, 2026, at 8:01 AM EDT. This warning remains in effect until 4:15 PM UTC today.

Residents in affected areas must act now to complete preparations before hazardous winds arrive. Winds of 30-40 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected. Limited damage to property and scattered power outages are possible. Protect property immediately.

Life-threatening storm surge of 4-7 feet above ground is possible from Friday morning until Saturday morning. If evacuation orders are issued for your area, leave immediately to avoid being cut off from emergency services. Extensive inundation and structural damage are potential impacts.

A Flood Watch is in effect, with an additional 3-6 inches of rain expected, leading to potential major flooding. Heed all flood watches and warnings. Finally, the situation is favorable for several tornadoes. Be prepared to shelter quickly if a tornado warning is issued.
