URGENT: Tropical Storm Warning Issued for Port Saint Joe, Cape San Blas
A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect immediately for Port Saint Joe and Cape San Blas, with hazardous winds, life-threatening storm surge, major flooding potential, and possible tornadoes. Shelter now.
Coastal Gulf residents in Port Saint Joe and Cape San Blas are currently under a Tropical Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee FL. This alert is effective immediately, as of 2:07 AM EDT on October 10, 2026, and expires at 10:15 AM UTC.
Residents should shelter immediately from hazardous winds. Peak winds of 30-40 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected through the next few hours. Last-minute property protection efforts should be complete. Life-threatening storm surge of 2-4 feet above ground is possible around high tide; those in surge-prone areas should remain sheltered in a safe location.
A Flood Watch is in effect with potential for major flooding from heavy rain, which may prompt evacuations and rescues. Heed all flood watches and warnings. Additionally, the situation is favorable for several tornadoes, with potential for significant damage. If a tornado warning is issued, move quickly to the safest place within your shelter.
