A Rip Current Statement has been issued for Coastal Palm Beach County, effective immediately and continuing through Saturday evening. The National Weather Service (NWS) Miami FL warns of dangerous rip currents and isolated minor coastal flooding in the affected area.

Residents and visitors are advised that a High Rip Current Risk is in effect from 8 AM EDT this morning, October 9, 2026, through Saturday evening, October 10, 2026. During this period, rip currents can sweep even strong swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

Additionally, a Coastal Flood Statement is in effect through Saturday morning, October 10, 2026, indicating the potential for some water on low-lying roads and property.

For your safety, the NWS urges the public to not drive through flooded roadways. When at the beach, swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Do not swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
