Residents and visitors in Coastal Palm Beach County are advised to take immediate precautions due to a High Rip Current Risk and a Coastal Flood Statement issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Miami FL.

A High Rip Current Risk is in effect from 8 AM EDT this morning, October 9, through Saturday evening, October 10. Dangerous rip currents are expected, posing a significant threat even to strong swimmers. If caught in a rip current, the NWS advises relaxing and floating. Do not swim against the current. If able, swim parallel to the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. Swim only near a lifeguard.

Additionally, a Coastal Flood Statement is in effect through Saturday morning, October 10. This may cause isolated minor coastal flooding, with some water on low-lying roads and properties. The NWS instructs individuals not to drive through flooded roadways.
