A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Northern Jackson County, including Wade, Vancleave, and Escatawpa, by the National Weather Service New Orleans/Baton Rouge. This warning is effective immediately, issued October 8 at 10:01 PM CDT, and expires October 9 at 6:15 AM CDT.

Residents in affected areas should move to safe shelter as soon as possible before hazardous winds begin. Peak wind forecasts are 20-30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, with a potential for sustained winds of 39 to 57 mph. Prepare for limited wind damage, including to porches, awnings, sheds, and unanchored mobile homes. Scattered power and communications outages are possible.

Moderate flooding rain is also expected, with around 1 inch of rainfall anticipated. This could lead to moderate rainfall flooding, potentially prompting evacuations and rescues. Heed any flood watches and warnings. Rivers and tributaries may become swollen, and some structures could experience flooding. Driving conditions may become hazardous, with some road and bridge closures. Tornadoes are not expected, but gusty winds and thunderstorms may still occur.
