The Mississippi Guardsmen train continuously to increase their capabilities in emergency response operations. The Guardsmen, assigned to Second Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group, have rescued more than 350 individuals over the past few days in Jackson, Hancock, and Harrison counties along the Gulf Coast.

Launch of USNS Maury (T-AGS-66) at Halter Marine on 37 March 2013 (130327-N-ZZ999-003)
The future U.S. Military Sealift Command navigation test support ship USNS Maury (T-AGS-66) is launched at VT Halter Marine in Moss Point, Mississippi (USA), on 27 March 2013. Maury was named in honour of Cmdr. Matthew Fontaine Maury, known as the "father of modern oceanography." Designed to perform acoustic, biological, physical and geophysical surveys, Maury will provide the U.S. military with essential information on the ocean environment. The ship was delivered on 16 February 2016.
