North Port Commission Proclaims Red Ribbon Week Oct. 23-31

The North Port City Commission will proclaim Red Ribbon Week Oct. 23-31, 2026, during its regular meeting Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026. The proclamation recognizes drug prevention efforts across the city.

The City of North Port Parks and Recreation Department and the organization Drug-Free Youth will receive the proclamation. They promote drug-free lifestyles among the city's youth.

Red Ribbon Week is a national campaign to prevent drug use and promote healthy choices among young people through community events and educational initiatives.

The City Commission meeting begins at 4 p.m. at City Hall. Agenda item 3.j addresses the proclamation.
