Charlotte County Launches Rec Ready App for Recreation

North Port residents can now access Charlotte County's recreation services through a new digital tool. The Rec Ready app offers a centralized platform for reservations, program registrations and notifications from Charlotte County Community Services.

The app connects users to the county's recreation facilities, including six recreation centers, four aquatic facilities and athletic fields. Users can make reservations, register for programs and receive updates on their mobile devices.

The Rec Ready app also features fitness challenges. Users can integrate the app with Google's Health Connect to track data such as calories burned, distance walked or run, and steps climbed. This data helps users monitor progress toward challenge goals. Users must authorize the app to access specific data from Health Connect, including distance and step records and total calories burned. User data will be retained only while the account remains active, and all associated personal data will be deleted upon account deactivation, in accordance with the Health Connect Permissions policy.

Charlotte County Parks and Recreation, which manages these facilities and programs, holds CAPRA accreditation from the Commission for Park and Recreation Agencies. This national recognition identifies the division as one of 191 accredited agencies in the United States.
