Baldwin County Schools Project SEARCH Graduates Four Students
Baldwin County School District honored four graduates of Project SEARCH and welcomed five new interns to the workforce training program at a ceremony May 5 at Baldwin High School.
TaShawn Robinson, Haley Hester, Ellijah Patterson, and Heaven Armstrong completed a year of hands-on training at Atrium Health Navicent, rotating through departments to build workplace skills in communication, teamwork, punctuality, professionalism, and customer service.
The district signed five incoming interns for the 2026-2027 school year: Derek McConnell, Joshua Nesbitt, Tiffany Page, and twins JaKayle Hector and JaKyle Hector.
"Project SEARCH gives those students the opportunity to be seen for their abilities, their work ethic, and their potential," Superintendent Dr. Kristina Brooks said.
The program, run through a partnership between the school district and Atrium Health Navicent, serves students with disabilities. Participants take classroom instruction and work rotations designed to explore career interests and prepare for employment after high school.
Project SEARCH Lead Instructor Jennifer Bryant said interns spend the year building confidence and workplace skills. "By the end of the year, our interns are not only better prepared for employment, but they also begin to see themselves as capable and valuable," she said.
