Baldwin County Schools Win National Music Education Award
Baldwin County School District received the 2026 Best Communities for Music Education Award from The NAMM Foundation, extending its streak to 11 consecutive years.
The award recognizes school districts that commit substantial resources to music education and ensure access across all grade levels. The NAMM Foundation evaluates districts on funding, staffing, participation rates, and instruction availability.
"Music education gives students opportunities to develop confidence, creativity, discipline, and connection," Superintendent Dr. Kristina Brooks said. "We are proud of our music educators, our students, our families, and our Board of Education for continuing to support the arts."
Baldwin County offers music instruction from elementary through high school, including early music education and performance opportunities at middle and high school levels. The Board of Education has maintained arts funding despite budget pressures in other areas.
The recognition places Baldwin County among a select group of districts nationwide that have held the designation for more than a decade.
