Joe Luis Suarez, 51, was arrested Monday on a sexual battery charge stemming from an alleged assault on a 63-year-old passenger in Hialeah.
Hialeah police investigated a report filed July 2 about an incident that occurred days earlier. According to the arrest report, the victim had arranged an Uber ride to Boca Raton through her daughter and exchanged phone numbers with Suarez. When he later offered to drive her for coffee, she agreed.
Instead of going to a coffee shop, Suarez drove the woman to Victor Wilde Park. He climbed onto her in the front passenger seat and touched and kissed her without consent, the report states. The victim pushed him away and exited the vehicle. Suarez followed her, forced her into the back seat, and sexually assaulted her before driving her home.
Police booked Suarez into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Monday, October 12.
