Make-A-Wish Grants Boca Raton Girl's Mermaid Dream

Six-year-old Aria Wells became a mermaid for a day at Boca Raton Beach Club, fulfilling a wish granted by Make-A-Wish Southern Florida.

Aria, who has epilepsy, met with two mermaids who fitted her with a tail, taught her to swim, sang songs with her, and gave her a gift basket of seashells.

"It gave her something to look forward to, something to hold on to, even in our future treatments," said Aria's mother, Catherine Garcia. "She'll definitely look back and think about this and it'll make her happy."

One of the mermaids described Aria as loving and energetic. "All she wants to do is swim, swim, swim," the mermaid said.
