The Catholic Schools of Central Florida is seeking substitute teachers to join its educational team. The organization needs dynamic and passionate individuals to provide instruction and maintain positive learning environments in its schools.

Substitute teachers ensure educational continuity when regular teachers are absent. They follow lesson plans, maintain classroom routines and ensure a safe, orderly environment. Upon arrival, substitutes report to the school principal or a designated representative for lesson plans, attendance rosters and classroom information.

Substitutes may also assist with supervisory duties like bus or lunch duty. At the end of the school day, they dismiss students and write a summary note for the returning teacher, detailing the day's events, attendance and other pertinent information.

Candidates need a High School Diploma. An Associate Degree or higher is preferred but not required. The Catholic Schools of Central Florida prefers practicing Catholics and applicants with two years of experience working with children.

Effective communication skills are essential for professional interaction with students, parents and school personnel. Additional qualifications include the ability to maintain confidentiality, follow directions, work independently and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must also handle multiple tasks, work under pressure, operate with minimal supervision and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.

Interested individuals should complete the online application. The Catholic Schools of Central Florida, part of the Diocese of Orlando, will contact only those selected for an interview. As a religious organization, the Diocese of Orlando can only consider candidates eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

The Diocese of Orlando is an equal opportunity employer and maintains a drug-free workplace. All employment offers are contingent upon satisfactory completion of background checks and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
