Rip Current Warning for Coastal Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade Counties
A dangerous rip current statement has been issued for coastal Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade Counties, effective October 3, 2026, at 2:39 AM EDT, through Sunday evening, October 4, 2026, at 8:00 PM EDT, by the National Weather Service.
Coastal residents and visitors in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade Counties are advised to exercise extreme caution at area beaches due to a dangerous rip current statement issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Miami FL.
The Rip Current Statement is effective immediately, October 3, 2026, at 2:39 AM EDT, and will remain in effect through Sunday evening, October 4, 2026, at 8:00 PM EDT. The NWS warns that rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
During this period, beachgoers are urged to swim only near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, the NWS advises relaxing and floating. Do not attempt to swim against the current. If possible, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If you are unable to escape the current, face the shore and call or wave for help.
