Coastal residents and visitors in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade Counties are advised that a Rip Current Statement is in effect until Sunday evening, October 4, 2026, at 8:00 PM EDT. The National Weather Service (NWS) Miami FL issued this statement, indicating dangerous rip currents are expected.

These conditions can sweep even strong swimmers away from shore into deeper water. The affected areas include the coastal regions of Palm Beach County, Broward County, and Miami-Dade County.

The NWS advises the following safety measures: If swimming, do so near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, do not swim against the current. Instead, relax and float. If possible, swim parallel to the shoreline. If you cannot escape the current, face the shore and call or wave for help.
