The National Weather Service (NWS) in Portland has issued a Freeze Warning, effective from midnight tonight, October 12, until 8:00 AM PDT tomorrow, Tuesday, October 13.
Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 to 32 degrees Fahrenheit are anticipated, particularly in areas near Parkdale. These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, and potentially damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
The NWS advises moving outdoor potted plants indoors if they are sensitive to cold temperatures. Take steps now to cover or otherwise protect tender outdoor plants from the cold.
