“In order to plan for efficient, effective, safe, equitable and reliable transportation systems, the County must have the input of its public. The County spends extensive staff and financial resources in furtherance of this goal and strongly encourages the participation of the entire community. Any person may attend any Board of County Commissioner (BOCC) Meeting including Committee Meetings and speak during the Public Comment portion of the agenda concerning a matter of the BOCC business or concern of the person. Persons should check the BOCC’s website at www.nassaucountyfl.com for a list of scheduled meetings and agendas. Persons may also call the County Administrator’s Office to receive a calendar of upcoming meetings. Meeting location is accessible to the disabled. The BOCC and/or staff members also attend other Community meetings as necessary or when invited. The Nassau County Board of County Commissioners (County) values diversity and welcomes input from all interested parties, regardless of cultural identity, background or income level. Moreover, the County believes that the best programs and services result from careful consideration of the needs of all of its communities and when those communities are involved in the transportation decision making process. Thus, the County does not tolerate discrimination in any of its programs, services or activities. Pursuant to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964and other federal and state authorities, the County will not exclude from participation in, deny the benefits of, or subject to discrimination anyone on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, religion, income or family status. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and related federal and state laws and regulations forbid discrimination against those who have disabilities. City Watercolor Map

City Watercolor Map Background On August 21, 2023, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 4358-23 approving a recommendation from the Public Art Board to commission artist Caryn Dahm to design a watercolor map. The watercolor map is a map of the City and important local landmarks, with a total of around forty small illustrations, representing elements that define the character and the identity of the City. Ms. Dahm has worked diligently with the Public Arts Board to craft the final design and is officially presenting the Oviedo watercolor map to the City Council. The watercolor map will be displayed at a location in City Hall. In the future, the Public Art Board may use the design to be shown in merchandise to be sold to support the Public Art Fund. On July 15, 2024, the watercolor map was presented to the City Council during the presentation portion of the Regular Agenda Meeting and will be used for future projects. Wings of Joy Sculptures Installed

Oviedo, Fla. - The City of Oviedo and the Public Arts Board are proud to announce the completion of the ‘Wings of Joy’ installation in Solary Park. ‘Wings of Joy’ features five butterfly sculptures, thoughtfully placed in the park. The idea for ‘Wings of Joy’ originated in 2022, when the Public Arts Board proposed adding a sculpture project to Solary Park. Artist Diane Boswell, who had previously designed a project in Winter Park, presented her concept for the metal panels in June 2022. The panels display five unique butterfly designs. ‘Wings of Joy’ was conceived as a contemporary artistic interpretation of butterflies, aiming to immerse visitors in joy and happiness through interactive experiences for families and friends. The panels consist of high-definition photography printed on metal. “The Oviedo Public Arts Board is thrilled about the Wings of Joy installation,” said Public Arts Board Chair, Keith Koons. “This has come after many years because of the hard work of many people in the city. We hope that it will bring joy and inspiration to all Oviedo residents and visitors.” Complementing the sculptures, butterfly-friendly landscaping will soon be added to further enhance the park’s features. Over the past week, crews prepared the site for installation, including grading, drainage, and upcoming landscape modifications. The City encourages residents and visitors to interact with the display and capture photographs, creating lasting memories for all.

The community planning process began in 2003 with the drafting of the Downtown Master Plan, the Strategic Economic Development Plan, the Delegation of Authority Resolution, and the Finding of Necessity (FON). The Community Redevelopment Plan will identify programs, projects, and improvements, provide an action item schedule and identify resources to address the shared community concerns and objectives articulated in the following plans and reports: • Downtown Master Plan, 2003 • Comprehensive Plan, Amended 2009 • Strategic Economic Development Plan, 2006 • Findings of Necessity and Redevelopment Strategies, 2008 Each of these plans utilized community resources, public workshops, and local knowledge to identify specific issues, challenges, objectives, and tasks to improve distinct areas of Oviedo. They also encompass complementary objectives for the downtown area. The Community Redevelopment Plan will build upon the previous plans and reports and the input from community groups and public workshops to introduce new strategies, programs, and specific prioritized actions and tasks to implement the community’s shared development goals. Property Records Lien Search Request All property search requests must be faxed or mailed to the City Clerk’s Office. Requirements The City of Oviedo charges a flat fee of $75 per property search. Search includes utility balances, code violations, municipal and lot mow liens, and open and expired permits. Payment must be received before the search will commence. Request must be made using the City Property Records Search form. Call 407-971-5500 to request a copy of the form. Timeframe for Requests Requests are handled as expeditiously as possible - results are normally provided within 5 to 7 business days. Results are valid for a period of two (2) weeks. After two weeks, if an update is requested, it is considered a new request and an additional payment of $75 will be required. Note: If you are unsure as to whether the property is located within the City limits of Oviedo, check the Taxing District on the Seminole County Property Appraiser’s website.
