Residents in Coastal Nassau, Coastal Duval, Eastern Clay, Western Clay, Northeast Coastal St. Johns, South Central Duval, Northern Inland St. Johns, and Western St. Johns counties should be aware of a Special Weather Statement issued by the National Weather Service Jacksonville FL.

At 3:31 PM EDT, Doppler radar detected a strong thunderstorm with the potential to produce a landspout over Fruit Cove, moving north at 35 mph. This alert is effective until 4:15 PM EDT today, October 10, 2026.

The primary hazards include landspouts and wind gusts up to 50 mph. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible, and gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Areas including Orange Park, Green Cove Springs, UNF, Mandarin, Fruit Cove, Arlington, Ponte Vedra Beach, Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, and Neptune Beach are expected to be impacted.

If you are outdoors, seek shelter inside a building immediately. Torrential rainfall is also occurring, which may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud-to-ground lightning is present; remember that lightning can strike up to 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek safe shelter indoors or in a vehicle.
