Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Clay, Duval, St. Johns Until 3:30 PM
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for parts of Clay, Duval, and St. Johns counties until 3:30 PM EDT, with 60 mph wind gusts and potential for flash flooding. Seek shelter immediately.
Residents in north central Clay County, southeastern Duval County, and northwestern St. Johns County are advised to seek immediate shelter. The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning effective until 3:30 PM EDT today, October 10.
At 2:49 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Mandarin, moving north at 15 mph. This storm is capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts, which may cause damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Affected areas include Jacksonville, Orange Park, Mandarin, Arlington, UNF, Fruit Cove, NAS Jax, Baymeadows, San Marco, and Ortega.
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways, as torrential rainfall is also occurring and may lead to flash flooding.
