Digital Services Update 2026
Digital Services Update 2026 The Bad News As demand for digital materials grows and costs rise, the Plymouth Public Library has carefully looked at trends and spending. Unfortunately, Hoopla's pay-per-checkout model has become unsustainable and services relatively few community members vs our Libby/OverDrive service. The Library Board has made the difficult decision to discontinue Hoopla service as of December 31, 2025. Items borrowed before that date will remain available for the remainder of their normal loan period. Patrons who wish to save their Hoopla borrowing history can log in to My Hoopla → History and copy or screenshot their list before service ends. The Good News We will be focusing our digital funding on Libby/OverDrive to fill Plymouth Library Card Holder holds faster. Watch for shorter wait times and more immediate availability on titles you want right away. We will also be adding New York Times All Access starting in January which will bring you the news, recipes, and games everyone loves. Free with your Plymouth Library Card. Thank you for your understanding! We understand that this will be disappointing news for our patrons who use Hoopla. We remain committed to providing cost effective physical and digital services to our community.
