A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for Brantley and Luverne in Crenshaw County, effective immediately and expiring at 6:00 AM UTC on October 8, 2026. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Mobile, AL, issued the alert at 9:53 PM CDT on October 7, 2026, urging residents to prepare for significant wind, moderate flooding rain, and the potential for a few tornadoes.

Residents should plan for dangerous tropical storm force winds, with peak gusts up to 45 mph, and a potential for winds reaching 58 to 73 mph. Efforts to protect life and property, including securing loose objects and preparing for significant wind damage, should be underway now. Act to complete preparations before hazardous winds begin.
