Clearwater Mother, Three Children Get Habitat Home
Stacey Tessier and her three children will move into a new home built through Habitat for Humanity, ending years of housing instability that forced the family through overcrowded apartments and constant rent increases.
Tessier, 18, Mason, 13, and Isabella, 11, have struggled with inadequate living space as the children grew. Tessier works as a Processing Manager at Medicaid Done Right.
"It felt like a weight I had been carrying for so long was finally lifting," Tessier said of learning she was accepted into the program. "I immediately thought of my kids and what this would mean for their future."
Tessier said the home means her family can stop worrying about rent increases or sudden evictions. She hopes her children will have space to study, celebrate holidays, and build memories in a place they own.
Kitty Handwerk and Bruce Terwilliger are sponsoring the home.
