Kistler Family Moves Into Habitat for Humanity Home in Clearwater

Abby Kistler and her 17-year-old son, Carter, are moving into a Habitat for Humanity home in Clearwater after years of financial strain made stable housing out of reach.

Kistler works as a Child Welfare Case Manager at Youth & Family Advocates, a position she has held for nine years. High monthly rent limited her ability to save and sometimes forced her family to share homes with relatives. "There were times when I felt a lack of pride in our living spaces," she said.

The Habitat home offers Kistler financial stability and a chance to build wealth for her family. "We deserve a place to create lasting memories with family and friends," she said.

Carter, a high school baseball player, shares his mother's active interests. The two enjoy road trips, exploring new foods, and spending time with family.
