Clearwater Woman Wins Habitat for Humanity Home
Abby Kistler, a child welfare case manager at Youth & Family Advocates, will soon move into a Habitat for Humanity home in Clearwater with her 17-year-old son, Carter.
Kistler has spent nine years advocating for children and families. She holds a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary social sciences from the University of South Florida. For years, rent consumed most of her income, forcing her and Carter to share homes with family members in unstable situations.
Carter plays high school baseball and enjoys recreational pickleball. Abby and Carter spend time together exploring restaurants, ethnic markets, and taking road trips.
"We deserve a place to create lasting memories with family and friends," Kistler said. "I am looking forward to making this house a home in every sense of the word."
The home represents financial stability and the chance to build generational wealth for her family.
