Residents in the San Diego County Inland Valleys are urged to take immediate precautions as an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service San Diego CA. This warning is effective immediately, October 7 at 11:47 AM PDT, and will remain in effect until Thursday, October 8 at 8:00 PM PDT.
Dangerously hot conditions are expected, with high temperatures ranging from the upper 90s to 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Nighttime temperatures will also remain very warm, with lows in the mid-60s to low-70s. These conditions significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses.
To stay safe, residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and stay out of the sun. It is also advised to check on relatives and neighbors. Crucially, do not leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles, as car interiors can reach lethal temperatures rapidly.
