A Wind Advisory has been issued for the Tucson Metro Area and surrounding communities, effective from 7 AM MST on Sunday, October 11th, until 11 PM MST that same day. Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects and exercise caution, especially when driving high-profile vehicles.

The National Weather Service in Tucson, AZ, reports that a strong weather disturbance combined with a decaying tropical system will bring sustained south to southwest winds of 25 to 35 mph, with gusts reaching up to 45 mph. The strongest gusts are expected to occur near showers and thunderstorms.

Affected areas include the Upper Santa Cruz River and Altar Valleys (including Nogales), the Tucson Metro Area (including Tucson, Green Valley, Marana, and Vail), Southeast Pinal County (including Kearny, Mammoth, and Oracle), the Santa Catalina and Rincon Mountains (including Mount Lemmon and Summerhaven), and the Baboquivari Mountains (including Kitt Peak).

Gusty winds can blow around unsecured objects, and there is a possibility of tree limbs being blown down and isolated power outages. Driving may be difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles.

The National Weather Service urges everyone to take precautions by securing loose outdoor items and using extra caution while driving.
