At 7:24 PM MST, severe thunderstorms were detected moving northeast at 35 mph, located along a line from over Pinal Airpark to over Tanque Verde. These storms are capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts and small hail. The NWS indicates that wind damage may occur before rain or lightning is present.
Impacted locations include Tucson, Catalina, Oro Valley, Marana, Casas Adobes, Flowing Wells, Tanque Verde, Saddlebrooke, and Avra Valley. This warning also covers portions of Route 79 (between mile markers 92 and 95), Route 77 (between mile markers 70 and 92), and Interstate 10 (between mile markers 217 and 254).
