Residents in parts of Pima and Pinal Counties must seek immediate shelter due to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tucson AZ. The warning is in effect from 7:40 PM MST until 8:15 PM MST tonight, October 10.
At 7:40 PM MST, a severe thunderstorm was located 14 miles northeast of Santa Rosa, moving north at 45 mph. This storm is capable of producing damaging 60 mph wind gusts, according to radar indications. The NWS warns to expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Areas impacted include Santa Rosa, Covered Wells, Anegam, North Komelik, Palo Verde Stand, Ak Chin, Queens Well, Sil Nakya, Mountain Village, San Luis, Sikul Himathk, and Silver Bell. This also includes Route 86 between mile markers 89 and 100.
All individuals in the affected areas should seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows until the warning expires at 8:15 PM MST. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds.
